I’m the perfect candidate for this course. I have a film degree. I have a multimedia degree. I’ve worked on several professional film projects. I’ve made lots of money acting. I’ve made three short films. I’ve owned Final Draft for 20 years. I own a Mac Studio with a full studio version of Davinci Resolve. And I’ve done a deep dive in AI filmmaking. And I have two Blackmagic cameras sitting in a box collecting dust. And I have a Mavic 2 Pro drone. And I’m a certified drone pilot. And I’m sitting around wondering how to pay the rent because I haven’t applied any of my training. Thank you so much for putting your foot in my ass, because apparently that’s what I needed. I don’t need another camera. I don’t need another degree. I don’t need another tutorial, another piece of software, or another year of “getting ready.” I have everything I need except the discipline to put it all together and make something. So I’m done studying filmmaking from the sidelines. I’m done collecting knowledge I don’t use. I’m done behaving like I’m waiting for somebody to give me permission to become the filmmaker I’ve already spent years training to be. It’s time to take the cameras out of the box, put the drone in the air, open the editing suite, use the AI tools I’ve been obsessing over, and make films. The rent isn’t going to pay itself. And apparently neither are those fucking cameras.
