The five-course pathway

From the idea to the final cut.

Screenwriting

Develop the idea, conflict and characters, then work through a full script analysis.

Directing Techniques

Casting, rehearsals and blocking. Learn how to communicate with actors and the crew.

Cinematography

Work from camera and lens choices to lighting, framing, depth and movement, with shot planning and real film examples.

Editing

Build a scene through continuity, pacing and sound. Follow an opening-scene edit through to export.

Color Grading

Start with white balance, exposure and contrast. Build looks, work with LUTs, then match scenes and skin tones in two practical scenes.

The decisions behind a shot

Look at the frame. Then look at the setup.

The finished image only shows part of the work. Camera position, framing and light all change what the audience sees. Cinematography is one of the five crafts covered in the Collection.
